I think that the 1 thing that gets in the way of newer players being successful at bridge is the daunting task of learning how to bid. There is just too much to memorize and too many conventions to follow. Which ones should you learn first and what do you need to get started.
Here I will attempt to list bidding in reasonable steps so that newer players can get started playing while memorizing the least amount of info possible. I'm working on it and any suggestions will be welcome.
